After four years of blogging here at SFL and watching the community here grow, I’ve decided to launch a brand new blogging project on new topic that I’ve been planning for a while. Don’t panic, SFL isn’t going away.
You can read all the details about the new project at MyObamaYear.com. Come one over and check it out. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Going forward I’m going to be splitting my time between these two projects posting here on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and posting on the My Obama Year blog on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I’m hopeful that scaling back the number of posts on SFL will also serve to make the quality of the material here even better by reducing the pressure to put a new post every single day.
Change is inevitable. I’m hopeful that this will be very good change.
As I do from time to time, I’m taking a few days off from blogging to rest and recuperate. At least that’s the plan. I’m somewhat addicted to this place so letting it sit idle is a challenge even when doing so is for my own sanity.
In the meantime, I will still be putting up a little new content on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ so be sure to follow and subscribe if you haven’t already.
See you all in a few!
Tomorrow afternoon (probably starting around noon but possibly sooner), SFL will go completely dark while I perform a hosting move.
This will mean downtime for both the blog and forums. I suggest you spend this time out soul winning instead of wasting your time in bitterness on the Internet. (I kid, I kid, but going outside and breathing some fresh air might nice even if you don’t do it while carrying gospel tracts).
I’m going to be absent for a few days while my family and I move across town into new housing.
If all goes as planned, I’ll resume posting by the middle of next week. In the meantime, be well and play nice.
On a pretty regular basis I get requests for new features in the comment section. With hundreds of comments posted each week, folks want more ability to edit, quote, search, etc. Basically, we’ve reached the point where the blog comment function is just not up to the needs of the ever-growing community who chat on here.
In recognition of that reality, I’m trying something new (or old depending on how long you’ve been hanging around here) by adding a forum that will host the comments on the blog posts as well as giving you all the ability to create off-topic discussions of your own.
You can find it here: stufffundieslike.com/forum You’ll need to register for an account before posting which should take all of 10 seconds.
This will give you all more power in how you comment and communicate but, as old uncle Ben said, that means you also have a greater responsibility. Post wisely.
For the time being, I’m leaving the comment section on the blog itself live until I can get the bugs worked out of the new software and see if it’s something that’s going to work for us. As always, feedback and suggestions are appreciated. I’m sure there will be a few bumps along the way.
