“I stand alone on the Word of God”. I have never figured out if this meant “I stand only on God’s Word” or “I alone, stand on God’s word” I suspect that for some fundies, it is meaning #2. I and God against all others.
i bet if you asked them whose amy they’re in, they would tell you that they “may never march in the infantry, ride in the cavalry, shoot the artillary, [they] may never zoom o’er the enemy, but [they're] in the Lord’s army. YES SIR!”
also, they would pronounce “cavalry” as “calvary”.
“i stand alone on it. i don’t read it. i just stand on it.”
I guess you could apply this to many fundy preachers too.
“i stand alone on it. i don’t use it. i just hold it.”
They forget to yell “BIBLE!!!!!!!!” after it was over!
So yeah. Might as well go awwww…
Loved singing this song.
Nice video.

i think this is what fundies mean by “sola scriptura”: i stand alone on it. i don’t read it. i just stand on it.

I just got this mental picture of a fundy person standing on a thick bible, screaming their head off about some bible thing. haha, it was funny,
There is at least one IFB church that sings:
“The KJV AV, yes, that’s the book for me”
and then the pastor literally stands on his Bible.
Sigh!
