      1. I was fourth (or would have been had I not taken the time to type a whole sentence.) And I will have you know that all through HAC the ONLY math course I was required to take was “Teaching Math” and never even had to take any college level math courses to qualify for that one. SO there! (wait, that didn’t really help my point, did it?)

        1. That goes a long way towards explaining why students taught by HAC teachers come out the way they do! How on earth do they get to hand out degrees w/ that kind of a course/curriculum?

        2. Ahem. While I do indeed blush that I was on the HAC faculty for two measly years, I take great pleasure in the fact that I was told by Wendell Evans’ go-to boy to dumb down my classes. Seems I was being too demanding, asking poor preacher boys to construct complete sentences. 🙄

        3. Otherwise, yes, Rob, you are absolutely right. I credit my academic knowledge to lots of things, but one of them is NOT HAC.

  1. “Subjection School” sounds like some freaky BDSM thing, and I really don’t want my mind going there.

    😉

        1. I don’t know, the image of a denim- jumper-clad overweight woman in white keds being led on a leash on all fours by a man in a suit and tie just popped into my head and it’s all your fault!! 😯

  2. Can’t really see too well, but if that is a guy wearing that shirt then he doesn’t seem to have a very fundy haircut.

      1. I don’t know… the hips are narrow compared to the broad shoulders… but the writing on the shirt is pretty girlie… And then my original obervation will just be similar… not a very fundie hairstyle for a woman. And by the way, what the heck does it even mean? Did she have a falling out with the wives of these guys? Or does she think SHE might be a more submissive wife than what these guys currently have? Or what? I am so curious now.

        1. If I had to bet I would guess that she is one of the wives of these guys and is wearing this shirt as a sort of tongue in cheek testimony.

        2. Ohhhh, like maybe an “advertisement” for the non-existant school… Well, inside jokes are usually not carried to the extreme of making an acutal tee shirt but whatever floats her boat I guess.

        3. Yes, I am pretty sure that’s a woman. The i is dotted with a heart. I bet her hair is up in a ponytail … that sometimes leaves short little curls hanging down on the neck if the woman’s hair is semi-short to begin with.

    1. I detect bra strap on “her” right shoulder… I’m calling that it is a female wearing the shirt over denim culottes.

With white tennis shoes and white socks…

      …over nylons.

    1. I’m sure it’s someone’s idea of a joke, yes.

But like most jokes its based at least a little on the truth…

      1. I am thinking that considering what a dud of a sense of humor most fundies have it probably is a joke, or at least an attempt at a joke. I just don’t get it.

    2. Of course it is, but if it wasn’t, I’m gathering up my snarkiest girls on here, we’re getting tipsy, and then headin’ over to Subjection School…

because that would be way too much fun. 😉

      1. If there WAS such a thing as subjection school, I am sure my husband would have found out about it and enrolled me in it a long time ago. (Of course that would have been right around the time I enrolled HIM in Finish a Job Around the House school.)

        1. Or how about The Countertops And Sinks Are Part Of The Kitchen, Too School.

Of course, then he’d be sending me to The School For Making Up Your Mind.

          So, yeah. 😉

        2. HAHA! I LOVE that one! Or the, “If you splashed it on there, you can wipe it off of there” school… or maybe that is just one course in YOUR school. I think there are a whole lot of courses in your school.

  3. That shirt just has to be parody…Well I sure hope it is!

    Remembering that Poe’s Law thing…

  4. And here we see that being The Old Widder has a definite UP side…. Well, that and rarely shaving one’s legs…. 😉

  5. I didn’t know what “Subjection school” meant, so I Googled the two words. My my my it certainly seems to have a WIDE variety of meanings. Some of the links were positively scary and not to be looked at lest my soul be sullied by images of vampires and the like.

  6. You have been accepted to the Hogwarts school of subjection and submission. Each student must bring the following:
    1 “magic wand”
    1 pair leather chaps
    1 pair jumper cables
1 mask (phantom style is ok, but catwoman is even better)
Either an owl, a rat, or a toad
    😯

  7. From what I’ve seen in the churches I’ve been in, Mike and Daryl were most likely teaching a class on marriage. The shirt expresses one person’s opinion (possibly accurate) of the content of that class.

  8. That was the running joke among the men of this church. I can’t believe it’s still going. 🙄

Drove by there today on the way home from getting my kid from school. Thought about stopping by in my jeans and Lecrae tshirt with my visible tattoos, because I’m sure some of my family is there, but instead I chose to drive by with my windows down and my music loud playing this song, which I felt was totally appropriate! 😀

    1. I like the way you think! I like the song, too, that would go well on my “workout” playlist. Went into the church/school bldg today for something and got icey vibes from the church secretary… oh well…

  9. Wow. Submission and subjection are not exactly synonyms. The Bible doesn’t require women to be subject to men, but I guess some people’s agendas are no longer much of a secret.

  10. Wow! That shirt is, I hate to say, tacky. The least she could have done is used puffy paint and some stencils. Or if she really cared, she could have arisen early (like a Proverbs 31 woman does) and cross-stitched the message on the back.

I am soooo thankful she was not forgetful and put it on the front of her shirt. She would have had to wear one of the nursery smocks for the rest of the service.

  11. By the hair length (below the ears and top of the neck) it looks like a zombie female is wearing the shirt. She must know some fellow Fundie women who are wearing clothing in opposition to the sermon in the video below! 😆

  12. p.s. – I wonder if Mike & Daryl are happy with their wives as they are – especially if they are wearing clothing being preached against in the sermon below – 😛 😯

  13. This reminds me of my first few weeks in seminary. As my wife and I had just moved to the south, she did not have a job right away and hung out at the school, especially on Tuesdays for chapel and lunch. While most people loved her, one seminarian (who beat his wife frequently) told me that she was too mouthy. I responded half-jokingly, “yeah, we’ve talked about it, but she is was just raised to speak her mind, what can ya do?”

His response was that I be a biblical leader and handle it. Perplexed, I asked for more detail in whatever he was getting at. He then informed me that if I hit her with a phonebook, it would not leave a mark. That had never occurred to me. Oh the things you learn in school.

    1. If I go to hell for NOT hitting my wife with a phone book (or anything else), I won’t be sorry.

    2. I really, really, really hope said seminarian did NOT go on to become a pastor. If so, the poor women in his church! 😯

  14. I always think of the word “subjection” with hearts over the “j” and the “i”. I love being my husband’s subject and catering to his every whim whilst pretending that I am not dying inside.

  15. That’s not a fundy male, because:
    1. That shirt has no collar
    2. The shirt is not tucked in
    3. The pants/skirt/whatever-you-call-the-lower-part-of-clothes-these-days appear to be denim. No denim on fundy males.
    4. No back pockets, which all fundys’ pants have. So that is a skirt. And no fundy male has ever been in drag and lived to tell about it.

  16. I’m behind all of you due to computer issues. When I saw this I really hoped it was a joke. Because the Bible NOWHERE tells men to force their wives to submit. It tells the wife to submit, leaving the decision to HER as to whether she will submit or not. He is never told to force her to submit but to love her.

I remember once reading a pamphlet by some fundy preacher that told women when they complained about submission saying, “Well the Bible says he is to love me” that they were wrong to read the husband’s “mail.” The verses telling him to love his wife were his “mail” but the verses about submission were her “mail” then why does he think it’s ok for him to read it let alone preach it? The husband ought to pay attention to loving his wife and forget about whether or not she submits, since that is between her and God. If he would love her the way the Bible commands maybe she’d find submission a bit less unbearable. 😕

  17. Yes, Darrell, when are you going to get your wife into Subjection School?

I’ve even heard that you treat her as an adult human.

    For shame!

  18. I’m really sad that I can’t see the photo that inspired all these delicious comments.
