Right on, Stony! Curves are a good thing! =)
@Jen K – I just followed your link and now I’m fuming too.
The anonymous writer says “We hear a great deal about the sin of David, but seldom does anyone mention the sin of Bath-sheba.”
Hey “Author Unknown” – you want to know why people seldom mention the “sin of Bath-sheba?” I’m going to shout now so you can hear me over the static between your ears… BECAUSE THE BIBLE DOESN”T MENTION IT AT ALL. Great balls of fire, people.
Where are my Tums?
She committed the unpardonable sin of being undressed in the privacy of her own home, where a Peeping Tom (i.e., David) could see her. 😉
Said cartoonist may not be able to draw legs, BUT I SEE HIPS!!??!? 😮
I love it.
I think that needs to be a whole new post itself. Preaching about Bathsheba’s sin was a favorite among Fundy circles when I was growing up.
From http://www.momof9splace.com/sinof.html (posted above):
“Sleeveless blouses always reveal too much. Little as you may be able to understand it, the area beneath your arms, and the parts of your chest or your back which immediately adjoin them, are very attractive to a man;”
Armpits aren’t very attractive to me, thankyouverymuch.
I can’t even….wow. There are no words.
@ Jen & Pita – count me in as another fuming woman. 🙂
I’ve always wondered the reason there is so much debate about the way women dress. Are fundy men so weak and fragile that any little glimpse of a womans body will cause them to be “destroyed”?
Big meeting topic at church Sunday was about the “whores” wearing pants only problem was I reminded those around me that any prostitute I ever encountered wore skirts not pants . Of course I am always suspect in those circles anyway.
@Fuggaboutit Hahahaha! Nice line. Reason rarely works when you got a good rant/obsession going! Good luck!
