  1. Schaap has shown that it isn’t people he loves, but NUMBERS, which is why he spent all of 2 seconds actually talking about the people on those bus routs and the rest of the time talking about the numbers and how everyone should go to HAC and help increase those numbers. 🙁

  2. I remember riding the bus at FBCH when I was a kid which was “odd” because my Mom was “on staff”. We rode because we got tons of candy & we liked getting to scream. I rode the bus from about age 6 to age 9. The bus captain knew we were FB kids but I’m sure liked the numbers since there were 4 of us kids and we brought our neighbors which were an additional 3. Once I got older though the candy and shouting was more annoying than attractive and once I was old enough to become a “bus worker” I quickly saw how absolutely depraved things were. I watched as people would offer extra candy, cupcakes, McDonald’s & even money if the kid would just “pray the prayer again” or “get baptized”. It made my brothers and my sister and I so sick. We thought we were going to be part of something amazing…we had fun memories of riding the bus; but we quickly stopped working on the route & of course got loads of guilt. My brother took on a route for a while but he wouldn’t bribe kids so his numbers weren’t “up to par” and he was asked to step down. The bus ministry (at every IFB church I’ve attended) has been a GIANT, enormous expense that has everything to do with numbers. Numbers of attendance, numbers of “souls saved” and numbers of baptisms. Numbers fuel the madness.

  3. That sticker on the fridge should say:

“Home Improvement starts with the husband loving the wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.”

  4. I noticed that too…such sour, dour faces on those young people. Like the life has been sucked right out of them by that place.

    1. This is textbook Stage 1 Zombification.

I believe what we are seeing here is the prelude of the coming Zombie Apocalypse. When the soul becomes so starved for “Truth” all human function ceases triggering the rise of the Zombie within.

  5. Was the Bible a prop? I saw both M.O.G.s holding or waiving it around but not necessarily reading from it. Was it useful in the promotion of this video? Or is this just expected from a “good” preacher?

I also found it odd to talk about “bus people” in front of the “bus people.” Aren’t they just people? NO! Lump them all together and brand them poor, underprivileged, lame, blind…whatever condescending “churchy” word one can throw around.

  6. Ahhh colonialism in it’s most Hylesesque form. Could you be more condescending? Thankfully bus ministries are shutting down… after all they are a vehicle for easy believeism, gimmicks, legalism and the enemy of missional living.

Did you hear they even have a different school for all the halt, maimed, blind, gangsta, foreigner bus people. To not be a bus person you must need some form of outward conformity to be a real church person.

  7. It sad indeed – the whole fundamental Bible mess we have gotten ourselves into. I am a fundamental Bible Believing Baptist, however, I have rarely, if ever heard Galatians 5 preached as it is written. The whole chapter is a sobering reminder to BELIEVERS what will happen when we ignore or misapply the truth to US. It does NOT say, the lost are the only ones susceptible to sin, it says, . . .

“Gal 5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Gal 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Gal. 5:19 states: “NOW the works of the FLESH are ….” The FLESH of a Believer is NO different than the FLESH of a non-believer!! Do we get it now!??

That is one reason God said that “no FLESH should glory in his presence. . .”

  8. I remember way back in my unfortunate Hyles days, they would drop the girls off in South Chicago on Saturdays to recruit. We were not allowed to visit the black people and used a very demeaning term to notate a black family’s house. I am glad I discovered this site through a friend. Not many of my current friends understand how these many things posted here have affected us even in these later years.

  9. it breaks my heart to read the scoffers not of Schaap or Hyles but of the work of the Lord, I want you all to ask yourself one question! Where is your walk with God? Lets do a great work for God…why because He deserves it!!! The Problem is that we have such a critical spirit when we don’t like things done the way we want them done! Lets get off our High horses and get back to loving our bretheren…Gossipers and vipers i pray that everyone on hear has at least pointed someone to Christ in the last day or two or gets up and weeps for these children and lost souls! The Joy comes from serving the Lord and the work being done how Christianity has become so demoralized because we feel this way and that way! PRAISE GOD THAT SOMEBODY WAS DOING SOMETHING! IFB, MOB we are NOT to put our brothers and sister down because we think we are better than them we are the Light of World through Christ Jesus so before anyone of us points a finger at anyone ask yourself where is your walk with God we should be praying for more labourers instead of discouraging anyone and to you who made this page, Praise God that you were the Start of Bashing your brothers for Christ
if anyone has anything negative to say my email is at the bottom but remember one thing God knows our hearts and His men our not mocked

    1. You need to spend more time giving food, & shelter & healthcare etc to those in need and less time trying to trick vulnerable populations into letting you try to indoctrinate their kids so you can brag about your bus numbers.

  10. Ramon, you say we are not to bash Other Christians. I assume by other Christians, you mean the IFB and *only* the IFB. It’s OK to bash “Liberal Christians” like Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians etc and especially Catholics, because they are not Christians at all (especially Catholics) You, Sir, are a hypocrite.

    1. Also Paul, anyone who thinks that a bus “ministry” is some kind of great work for anyone but the MOG and the bus captain is naive and foolish. It’s all a numbers game.
