RE: You might be an ex-fundi if.....
That is easy. I heard it preached that God was hard up for help and no men were available so he had to use Deborah. She was more of a temp judge, until some men became available.
Fundies think that even though God made women, it doesn't mean he likes them either!Wink

If you actually believed the "prayer chain" was people actually praying for another rather than gossiping....

When you ask your friends in your new church if something was wrong or not and they tell you 'don't worry about it' you don't know how to respond because you've never heard that answer before!

O Beauty ever ancient, O Beauty ever new;
you, the mirror of my life renewed,
let me find my life in you.~St. Augustine

...you feel guilty for watching Beauty and the Beast cause you were taught that it condones beastiality.

...you buy a miniskirt just to spite your past but are still too scared to wear it.

... have thoughts about visiting your last fundy church and showing up in short shorts and a tank top.

...you can't stand when men tuck their shirts in.

"Funny, you're the broken one, but I'm the only one who needed saving."

... if you hear certain phrases in your head after perfectly harmless phrases, like "good luck" (There's no such thing as luck, only God's plan!") or "you're really creative" ("People aren't creative; only God can create!"). Or if, when you see "Xmas," a little voice in your head says, "Don't take the Christ out of Christmas!"

... if you're 26 and not even having sex but you still freak out when you pick up your birth control because you're afraid the pharmacist thinks you're a murderous abortionist baby-killing baby-killer.

Yeah, I had a fun childhood. Sad

I do this all the time! The voices in my head are quite persistant and very, very fundy.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

. . . you still can't bring yourself to drink IBC root beer because of its packaging.

. . . you feel guilty if your offering at church is less than 10% of your gross income, and you wonder when God's going to take that other bit away from you to make up the difference.

. . . you assume your pastor is reading your emails and your FB page.

...you miss a couple Sundays of church (in a non-fundy church) and you find yourself uncontrollably giving a long-winded, defensive explanation and still feel guilty for weeks thereafter.

I got the voices in my head drunk. Now they don't bother me. Big Grin

If you can't walk on the grass without feeling guilty, you might be an ex-fundy - bju style.

If you still have to remind yourself that Catholics are Christians too, you might be an ex-fundy.
