I realized that the reason why this video made me so mad is that the woman reminds me of a female residence manager at my Fundy U. Same exact power-tripping condescending tone.

Ugh. Could not agree more. I escape most of the wrath of the residence managers and the like by living at home, but I still remember the type well enough.

Other disgusting parallels in addition to the condescending tone include: (1) saying one thing, changing her mind, and then acting as if she had never said the first thing and (2) telling the man and his wife "you can't talk to these people" i.e., "don't try to influence my flunkies by reasoning with them."

Wow, there are fundy characteristics in several aspects of that video.

The head fundy is the one who called in to complain about the basketball goals. Fundys can't stand it when anyone is having fun. They are sure someone is sinning somewhere.

Then of course there is the lady who is trying to blindly enforce the rules. No hint of mercy, no consideration for others' point of view. These are the rules. They must be blindly enforced because they are the rules. And when it is more convenient for me, I can make my own new rules and completely ignore the fact that I stated the exact opposite 45 seconds ago.

I find it ironic that fundies constantly exhort us not to be "worldly", simplistically thinking that cheating, cursing, and listening to music with a beat is what being worldly means. I believe that being worldly encompasses much more than fundies imagine: it is exemplified by behavior like you describe: selfish, unmerciful, unbending, nitpicking. God calls us to die to self and our selfish tendencies which include power-tripping by harassing people.
