Quote:Referring to a popular song, I only wish losing my keys and phone were the worst things that could happen. Do you have any idea the number of people on this earth that have no food to eat? or clothes to wear? be thankful you have a car and a phone and stop letting it "drive you crazy" and "get to you lately!" I've wanted to say that for a long time!!! Smile

My fantasy response: "When you homeschool three kids, losing your keys or phone is almost a certainty, and it is the little things that can get you down. But thanks for reminding us that there are people with bigger problems. We didn't know that, of course. I'll be interested to see what happens when you have kids."

It's so annoying when Christians 1) pick apart perfectly find songs in order to find a way to disagree with it and 2) act holier than thou and disagree with us with a tone of self-righteous self-satisfaction. I don't know the mutual friend, of course, but I highly doubt that he/she drifts through life never letting anything get under their skin. Some of us face enormous, mind-blowing tragedies and challenges. The rest of us face all the little daily irritations that DO frustrate us - if we are transparent and honest about it! That's the thing - the friend is just putting on a facade of "Why be bothered by little things? At least I have a car!" Yeah, we know that! But head knowledge doesn't always transfer to our feelings when we're late, the kids are screaming, and we can't find the keys.

I don't know if the mutual friend was IFB, but the response was typical in its refusal to be humble and honest, transparent and real. Instead it was just a statement of "Shame on your for feeling that way."

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.
