He isn't really a friend anymore, more of an acquaintance now; he shook my hand at church the following Sunday and asked "are we still friends?" I didn't really say anything. I'm sorry, but I really do not appreciate it when a cousin, and someone who I consider to be a very good friend, is treated like that.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with such a display of immaturity. I know it can be pretty rough. I wonder what she would do if you told her you knew of others who she had treated the same way?
