Don - We're only using your oars if I ditch this thing in the drink and our flight becomes a cruise. Big Grin

Flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Hello everyone, and thanks for the welcome! Whether or not you all know me from my years in KS or not, I don't know. However, from the stuff you all write on here, I feel as if we have been friends our whole lives. I was just telling a friend of mine the other day how that the friends who have changed and grown in similar ways are the best friends now. Unfortunately then the opposite is true. I had friends who are still in fundy land and it is almost impossible to have a real relationship with them for lots of obvious reasons.

Love all the allusions to being on board the flight. I learned to fly about 17 years ago, and learned to fix planes almost 13 years ago. If the FundyNOMore jet needs a little maintenance or a pilot, I'm right there. If you knew where my farm in KS is, you'd quickly see from Google Earth why I bought the farm. I put in my own grass strip and have used it quite a bit. Unfortunately where I am living now, airplanes are not a large part of what I do. I am learning language and hoping to be able to sell my tents someday so I can be useful to the people here.

Sorry, but not really about the "typo" as I'm sure anyone who looks at their keyboard can notice the relative distance between two letters. I credit the CSt crowd with a lot of angst in my past. I got over that bunch of bunk when I was 25, and only managed to get married when I was 31, it took that long to get away from it. Even then, my wife can tell you how much fun getting to know me wasn't.

However, I have come to agree with the whole idea of courtshi! and even think it is a good thing in one scenario. Yes, if you are dealing with two children that want to get married, then it is a good thing. If on the other hand you are dealing with adults who want to marry, then I can't think of a worse method. It denies every single healthy step in a normal relationship from having a chance of ever happening. So there, I never thought I would say one nice thing about courtshi! but there it is. Also for the record, I don't ever recommend children getting married, so that kind of rules out the usefulness of said bad word.

Anyway, we may come back to the US some time, we don't know for sure how long we will be in this place. And if we can meet some of you someday in your non fundy places, that would be great!

Hey! You finally joined! When I saw "Joseph" I wondered if it was you for a sec, but then I read your post and there was no confusion.

Welcome!

(I have to point it out, and it may be that george has already visited you, but I am still laughing about the "courtshit" comment... too funny!) Please don't fix it. Big Grin

Again welcome aboard.

Haha, me too. If it was unintentional, it's the best Georgism ever, more so because it's true.

And welcome, Joseph!!

RE: Howdy everyone!
My spelling might get me in trouble, but usually it is the things I say with intention and perfect spelling that keep me in trouble. Since this one very interesting word has stuck in so many people's minds, I should tell on myself in case anyone here remembers me and my courtshit thoughts and deeds I wrote about ten years ago.

Some well known windbag and almost all his kids who live in and around Detroit considered themselves to be the originators of said bad word. I had the distinct pleasure of being in one of their churches and seeing the brainwashing going on. Further, I also had the distinct pleasure of anonymously sending an email to most of the members about how courtshit wasn't a good choice for their future spouse finding. Not only that, but I was back in that place a while after my email, and I got in on a discussion of it as an uninterested third party to my own email.

It was weird, but even more sad to see the effects of all the fundy nonsense on the young people. These are real people with real problems, courtshit was just one of many. I never knew how much was wrong with these kinds of places at the time. I thought I had found a pretty big deal to write about the evils of. Little did I know........
