RE: What lies were you told that could have been debunked by the Internet?
I think some knew they were telling lies, some didn't. But I do believe all would have justified it for the sake of "the cause of Christ" or however they would deem it justifiable. Fundy's believe ANYthing if it makes a good story or conspiracy theory.
Geez, I still can't believe I believed the lies I was told!!! But when you're born and raised in it, it's completely normal!

Continually being told that there are no Gospel witnesses in such and such country. They really do not like it when you can come up with names and adresses via the internet.

That David Copperfield holds seances before his perfomances and has demonic helpers. (I have been a professional magician for ten years and it is absolutely not true.) In fact the brains behind many of Copperfield's greatest illusions is Andre Kole, who travels extensively for Campus Crusade. Now I actually have fundy people who attack my wife and I for being involved in satanic arts."

That Oprah was going to be buried in a tomb with her "worshippers."

Yep, The Onion strikes again.

I was rebuked once for being interested in magic. I was a teenager and I got a book on how to do simple magic tricks from the library. It was simple stuff like making coins disappear, etc.
You would think I had tatooed 666 on my backside the way people reacted.

That'd be a pretty big tomb.

I find it peculiar how bad fundies say magic is, then invite fundy magicians (such as Tricky Ricky) to perform shows for their children's churches...

Everything is bad unless THEY have approved it. Then it's OK. If you like it, it's probably bad. ("No doubt the problem is with you.") But if they like it, then it's godly, acceptable, and worthwhile.

It's an example of their reliance on the power structure: the man in charge gets to tell everyone what is or is not OK. The concepts of spiritual liberty and the priesthood of the believer and the equality of all in the body of Christ doesn't matter.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

I perform those shows also. Tricky Ricky is a friend of mine.
