CCM
I'm usually NOT a fan of CCM. I'd actually prefer hymns (or hymn-like music) in church, and I listen to secular music at home. But Pandora just introduced me to Skillet, and I'm really enjoying it. Anyone else had a sudden, late-in-life intro to CCM or have a particular group or artist they particularly enjoy?

RE: CCM
I've only realized that most CCM wasn't sinful or worldly in the last couple years; I still feel a bit new.

I enjoy Casting Crowns and Tenth Avenue North both of whom are pretty main-stream CCM.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

Sojourn, Jars of Clay, Third Day. Long time listener to Steven Curtis Chapman. Those are pretty varied music styles too.

Oh, I've liked Jars of Clay for a long time, but I haven't actually listened to them in years! Totally forgot about them. Thanks for the reminder!

You're welcome! I liked them at the beginning then some albums were kind of meh, but I really like their Good Monster album. Not sure that its the newest, but it's pretty recent.

Random Jars trivia...I went to summer camp for several years with one of the band members! And he played guitar back then too. Lol

Pandora is such a great feature on ROKU.

I like the CCM group GLAD b/c they do traditional hymns and some of their own works too.

I'm terrible at embedding. I like this song b/c it's very uplifting too. We own 2 CD's and have put all of them on our MP3's.

Oh, and all their music is all acapella though.

Oops, one more thing, Glad is on ROKU.

RE: CCM
I used to listen to several CCM bands- David Crowder Band, Switchfoot, a Canadian band called Starfield. It gave me an emotional spike that was pretty rad, but the comedown afterward really sucked.

I got turned on to Page CXVI by a music aggregator service. They play indie-style hymns; it's the sort of hymns-reimagined thing.

Also a relatively new band from Northern Ireland called Rend Collective Experiment; their sound is pretty decent new folk.

You are not special. You are not an individual or unique snowflake. You are the same decomposing matter as everything else in this universe.

RE: CCM
I'm an old fart. I grew up on hymns in church and rock-n-roll elsewhere. I like some of the old hymns, but some of the CCM is fantastic. I absolutely love to hear and sing songs that show the love of God and what he has done for me. They bring me to tears.

God has been faithful and loving me for over 18000 days. I think that He will be faithful and loving to me today.

I've enjoyed listening to Relient K, Stellar Kart and FM Static. Casting Crowns is good too.
