The Other Side of Planned Parenthood

We all know the sales pitch of Planned Parenthood, but what isn't talked about is the facilitation of human trafficking.

A pimp or a madam who is forcing a girl against her will to have sex with men twice her age can go to these clinics for contraceptives and abortions.

Now, I'm not starting a discussion about abortion, for or against.

But, I do have a MAJOR problem with human trafficking of any kind, and anyone who aids it.

This is interesting. A guy and girl posing as a pimp and alleged prostitute go into Planned Parenthood. She's basically being told that this is for prostitution, and she tells HIM how to cover it up. This is WRONG.

But, the video is proof that it does go on in some clinics. Aren't they required to report crimes? I mean, if churches are, shouldn't they be?

So, is this the James O'Keefe video or the Lila Rose video. Both are heavily edited to provide the story they wished to create. Planned Parenthood contacted the FBI as soon as the situations occurred, so there was no abetting and covering up of sex trafficking. Oh, and there was one employee that didn't follow the reporting procedures properly. That one was fired.

Okay, so they did dismiss the worker. Good.

My argument isn't about abortion. I'm just concerned, again, about human trafficking, be it sex or labor.

I'm about reading all sides of an issue, and that part bothered me. If they are strictly regulated so that no facilitating of trafficking can go on, then great. If they ALL report known crimes, then good, too.

I had just only heard the Democratic hoorah of these clinics, and then to begin to study what could be an ugly side, bothered me.

I just wonder how truly regulated they all are. My hope is very.

What kind of regulations did you have in mind?

If a minor is legally allowed to obtain reproductive services on their own, there isn't much a clinic can do to stop this other than report them. On the flip side, wouldn't these be the youth most in need of the services in the first place? How are they facilitating trafficking by providing legal health services?

In my experience, very. And the emphasis on sexual health (including consent) is huge. Not to say they don't sometimes have predators/enablers coming through, but what I've seen is that they are even more aware and careful about this, not just to protect the clients they serve but because they are so often attacked like this.

Yeah, it is fairly easy to deconstruct.

First of all, the narration states "a pimp and his sex slaves"--and yet in the actual video, notice:

1) They never show the guy in the actual interview. At the beginning they show a black man and young girl (love those racist buttons!) filmed elsewhere, but they never show the appearance or the age of the guy in the actual interview, who could have been a minor too. I am inclined to think so, since she talks to him like he's a dumb kid, not a man. He also repeats "Cool. cool." several times, like a kid. (There is no proof the people shown at the beginning are the ones in the interview, and since they are not shown, they probably aren't).

Abortion IS legal without parental consent in NJ. No laws are being broken in providing information. When she says "act like you're students"--she includes HIM in that statement, something of a giveaway.

2) The narrator says "the pimp" asks, but instead, in the actual interview, the guy says "WE are in sex work"--which BTW also includes strippers, lap dancing, escort services and porn. That is not pimp language... pimps say "MY girls" as if they belong to him. "Girls we manage" sounds like a strip club. Also, by saying "WE are in sex work"--he includes himself, as if he could be a stripper too. The narrator casts him as a pimp, but an objective viewing shows that it is not clear AT ALL that he is, and he doesn't sound like one to me.

3) The girl speaks English. They do not show her either, though, so we don't know if SHE is underage. She does not seem to be the one seeking an abortion... obviously (louder voice than the guy) she is the one with the camera, from the vantage point, likely in her purse... this is why she avoids saying too much, which will compromise the recording.

4) At 2:03 the female says "If it does turn out that they do need an abortion..." THEY? Who is THEY? Obviously, the female is presenting herself not as a prostitute but as the co-manager of the strip club/sex workers in question... thus, the man was not seen as "the pimp" and she was not "his hooker" in the actual interview.

5) Approx 2:15, female asks, "Do you have any suggestions about what else they could do?" Why is this supposed "prostitute" asking this about someone ELSE? Again, she is not presented as the prostitute, but as "managers" of the girls in question.

6) At 2:36 they cut to photos of other girls, who are not connected at all to this video. They have never shown us the man and woman in question, then cut to stills of OTHER young girls--supposedly who they are talking about? Then they voice-over "Fourteen? Send them there" over a shot of some girl supposedly being grabbed off the street. Propaganda, editing.

Sex-trafficking is usually of Malaysians and other Asians, including lots of boys. Thailand is the source of much American "sex tourism"--so Americans directly benefit and that way, the traffickers don't have to traffic them very far. If not for the American and European demand, much of it from American businessmen, it would not exist. We need to target the market, not the women. Latino women are usually trafficked for farm and domestic labor, not for sex. The process of coming over the border is rough and isn't easy for young women, and the traffickers would rather not.
Most American girls who are trafficked are runaways from abusive homes. Any major city has a parcel of them hanging out in the Greyhound bus station.

After the demise of the USSR, Russian women were heavily trafficked, now that Greece is undergoing such economic hardship, that is the new trafficking hot spot. I was part of the Amnesty International Human Trafficking task force.

I used to make propaganda for the left. Some people would say I still do! And this kind of thing is fairly easy to do. I can't believe people fall for this edited stuff. But if they didn't, nobody would make it.

The situation was flakey enough to warrent reporting and the fact they they have procedures in place to screen for this is a good thing.
