RE: Random Rules at Fundy Schools
So not only is our pastor supposed to be our spiritual leader, relationship counselor, and political adviser, he's also our psychiatrist. Great.

RE: Random Rules at Fundy Schools
I just remembered another stupid rule from my old A.C.E. school. If we wanted to have a facebook account or other social media account, we had to give our username and password to the principal so he could make sure there was nothing that would "hurt our testimony" there. Luckily, I had nothing to hide back then, but the thought of someone having access to my private messages was unsavory enough that that's probably why I blocked it from my memory and didn't remember it til just now! How power-hungry do these people have to be? Now as I said, I was super fundy at the time so I didn't really have anything to hide. But I do believe I did put a disclaimer on the one photo of me wearing pants, explaining that I seldom wore them. xD

THIS times a million! When we try to show the world we are different through our arbitrary clothing choices instead of the outworking of our new natures, the attention is directed to ourselves and NOT to Christ Himself! I recently heard a young fundy woman complain about young men who aren't striving to be different enough because they wear "skinny jeans." Which reminds me of a Christian school administration that back in the day forbade boys from wearing Z. Cavaricci (sp?) pants (does anyone else remember those?) because the tag on the fly would draw girls' attentions to that area. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. ~ Ephesians 4:2 (NLT) |

LOL, at the Z. Cavaricci pants. My youth group must have been the compete opposite of fundy. For camp our youth pastor wanted us all to wear Z black and white plaid overalls. My friend and I cut ours into shortalls. It was the 90's and they were cool
