TruthSeeker, here are two reasons why I would consider JM and his church to be too conservative: - To varying degrees, he still preaches "guilt by association" and "Christian witness" as reasons to do, or to abstain from some things not stated by the Bible such as alcohol. While "Guilt by association" and "Christian witness" ought to be considered when a Christian is considering to do things that are indifferent in the Bible, it is not proper for Christians' conscience to be bound by anything else, other than the Moral Law in the Bible. - His militant opposition to Roman Catholicism. I do not consider Rome apostate enough to be such a heretical denomination where no one has a chance to be saved. Rome still proclaims the Gospel through the preaching of the Bible and the using of the Sacraments, in spite of the Gospel being hidden by her tradition and her false doctrines. Many Conservative Evangelicals insist a Christian must believe in justification by faith alone to be saved (Which will effectively damn all but Evangelical Protestants), however one is NOT saved by a set of theological propositions, but by belief and trust in Jesus Christ *alone* for salvation. - There are other theological reasons, not related to the word "conservative" that prevents me from joining his kind of church that I will not state here since they deviate away from the topic. An outstanding project in progress, by the Grace of God. |

RE: David Cloud Speaks Out On John MacArthur
The blood of Jesus is sinless, spotless, and pure, it is incorruptible. And because it is incorruptible, it is eternal. It cannot go out of existence and it will not go out of existence! The blood of the Lamb is Holy!
"By His own blood He entered in once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us." Heb 9:12 (this is Jesus' blood in Heaven) uhh....human blood doesn't do that, btw! Jesus could not have taken unholy blood into the Holy Place. The only kind of blood that could be taken into the Holy Place in Heaven is Holy blood. I'm not sure how anyone could disagree with that. If Jesus' blood was human blood it would have been contaminated by Adam's sin. It would not be SINLESS. It would not be PURE. It would be unholy. I think MacArthur should be alot more careful how he slings his false teachings around about the blood, let's see what the word says; "How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the BLOOD of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?" Hebrews 10:29.....WOW!!! - Is anybody listening to God's word here? I frankly wouldn't wouldn't want to be in the shoes of anyone that calls Jesus' blood, human blood! Almighty God will deal with this heresy! Satan loves for folks to think that the blood of the covenant is HUMAN blood. He just loves for people to think it is gone into the dust forever. He only wishes it were true, but thank God it's not true! The blood of Christ's cross lives on so that you and I who are saved can overcome that filthy devil: "They overcame him by the blood of the lamb!" Rev 12:11 Folks MacArthur has merely parrotted what he was taught from false teachers, namely R. B. Thieme, (at least as regarding the blood) I will continue to say it, take your theology from the precious Scripture, not from men! "For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for ALL, and therefore ALL died" 2 Cor 5:14...Me too, Paul! |

I'm not seeing how you get what you do out of these verses without isegesis.
boymom: What in the thelogical region of eternal punishment is a daddy-daughter ball? amyrose5:No one is in charge around here. Except maybe the rabbit. He thinks he is. But we do keep him in a cage, so that limits his real control. |
