Seriously?

I'm going to assume you have only seen the patriarchal media's take on feminists. Feminists don't want women to be superior to men. They just want women to be seen as people in their own rights -- NOT objects.

Here's a couple places to learn more-- from a woman's point of view, not a man's.

It's actually a far more common topic than "picking on religious folk," despite what most IFB's think. Mainly because the rest of the culture thinks IFB's are weird.

The latest issue I've seen has been men's vs. women's olympic coverage - there's some awesome articles on media coverage and sexualization of female athletes.

Such as NBC and their perverted slo mo videos of female athletes. These women have trained their entire lives and should be respected not leered at. *shudder* NBC should be ashamed of itself.

RE: Why What Women Wear Matters
Something I finally had pointed out to me: Feminism does seek to take "rights" away from men, because it disagrees that they were ever really rights in the first place. In this case, the fundamentalist male considers that he has a right to not be tempted by a woman. Therefore, women who tempt him are impinging on his rights, and people who say they should be allowed to do that are trying to take them away. It's the same old secular view of "I have a right to any woman I want" given a religious dressing.

Yeah, take the Bechdel Test, for example. (Something which I actually find really eye-opening!)

.....Too bad LotR doesn't pass the test... Confused
