Mr. Duff seems honestly broken hearted. I had to quit watching before Gibbs even finished his first full sentence. blech

I have meant Mr. Duff and his wife on a few occasions and know that they are good people who love and are warm and generous with their children and grandchildren. In my opinion, he probably is sincerely heart broken. However, he should have seen the writing on the wall. Either the heresy from the pulpit or other warning signs should have called Schaap's competence into question years ago. |

I honestly believed my ex-pastor was a good and sincere man who loves his family and is trying to do well - just deceived in how to be a good pastor. I recently found out about more abuse going on at that church. He's not a good man.

Why were people applauding? If, IMHO, there was ever an inappropriate response to something, that had to be it.

Alright, I haven't heard it, but i'm wondering if it's along the lines of, "Oh no, someone said something that disturbed my bubble! Oh, the church has stepped in, they're fixing everything. I don't have to engage my brain after all! Yay, what a relief! The church saved the day!"

I didn't watch the vid, but I did listen to the audio. It's one of Gibb's classic manipulations. As in, "lets get them to all agree on something so they will end up agreeing with me on everything".
