I really don't care about the Olympics.
Okay, call me unAmerican, anti-Christian, whatever, but I find the Summer Olympics boring.
The opening night is tonight. Do you know what will happen? A guy/girl will run with a torch, he/she will light a big thing. Anthems will be played. Athletes will cry, because they've achieved their dream. It will be as it was 4 years ago. Go ahead. Flame me. Just do it proper and use a torch. |

I'm with Natalie. I used to care, but it became less about real olympic (read athletic) competition and more about IOC idiocy. Seriously, let's get back to real, normal, athletic events and forget all the other nonsense. Maybe I'll care then.

I don't really like the olympics. I'm just not into sport. I hope my country gets medals, especially in swimming. I will watch the opening ceremony because they're normally well done. But yeah.
Mind you, I almost never watch tv anyway

I'm a sucker for all the pageantry and nationalism. And I respect the fact that all these people are way more talented in one area than I will ever be.

Here was my FB status after work this evening:
Well, I'm back on call and we're in the middle of a thunder storm.... typical. Well I was looking for something to do tonight other than watch the olympic ceremonies. So television will be even more worthless for the next 17 days. *no I am not a big fan of the olympics, sports, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, or field hockey with out the skates or sticks aka soccer... or tiddlywinks. I will watch Austrailian rules football, and sometimes I'll watch rugby. (and Nascar is not a sport: it is what people who drink beer, and eat fried chicken watch waiting to see a car crash.)
