Punk & SKA (CCM flavor)
I am a big Punk/SKA fan from the mid 90's.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Blink 182
Green Day (older stuff)
Reel Big Fish
Rancid

As I lean more CCM today, I have found the OC Supertones and Reliant K. Can anyone out there suggest similar bands out there in the CCM world in this genre? I have maxed out Rhapsody and iTunes. Thanks!

This was a clothing website. Are they the band?

No - they sponsor bands, concert events, etc.

The Altar Boys, "Gut Level Music" is still a favorite album of mine. There was also One Bad Pig. And Green Day was originally named Sweet Baby Jesus, so you could still count them.

RE: Punk & SKA (CCM flavor)
Most of the Christian punk/ska bands kind of went entirely off the rails, so I don't know what that says about the genre,

However, there are some that weren't too bad

Reliant K, Five Iron Frenzy (I prefer their Christian songs to their silly songs, but most of their albums are made up of ridiculous filler).

If you are after really good ska, then Less than Jake's "Hello Rockview" is one of the best. Also, the Hippo's have a great album that is very punk pop. For the most part, both of them have very little swearing, at least their early stuff doesn't. Millincolin weren't too bad either, on their early stuff (they dropped the ska and went hardcore punk, which sucked).

If you are into super happy ska, there was a japanese band called Yum Yum Orange, which was the cheesiest stuff ever

Here are some clips
Less than Jake - Five State Drive

The Hippos - Wasting my Life

Millincolin - Bullion (swedish gibberish in there somewhere)

Yum! Yum! Orange - Sunny Sunday (most in Japanese, and funny Engrish)

Save Ferris early stuff

That's enough. Too many memories. I need to go find my Less Than Jake cd's. I had so many of them. Out of all of those listed above, they were by far my favourite. I did like the MMB but thought they swore too much, same with Blink and Greenday. RBF were musically tolerable although they annoyed me with the "we love Satan" stuff in some of their songs and live shows.

Grace means that God does something for me; law means that I do something for God. God has certain holy demands which he places upon me: that is law. Now if law means that God requires something of me for their fulfillment, then deliverance means he no longer requires that from me, but himself provides it.

The best ska ever was Operation Ivy. They kicked off that whole Gilman Street scene in the late 80's. Crimpshrine was outstanding as well. As far as recent pop punk bands, you must check out Take Cover. None of these were/are Christian mind you, just really good.

And I completely skimmed over the fact you wanted CCM. In which case I'm clueless other than early Five Iron Frenzy stuff. Some of the Hillsong United stuff would probably be similar to mid 90's punk pop, but a bit more highly produced.

Oh! The Insyderz were awesome. Really good. Like Goldfinger. (Anyone else have memories of playing Tony Hawk Pro Skater while blaring Superman)

I had an Op Ivy hoodie I wore everywhere. Got me some sweet punk cred at concerts where everyone was wearing their green day shirts and stuff. No Poser here lol.

The whole alternative scene was weird. Everyone else was a "poser" except you and your group of friends. And if someone else liked the same band, they were posers, because you liked them first or something. Kids/teens are weird. I was weird.

May want to check out Pedro the Lion. Good, edgy Christian music. Of course, Dave Bazan is an atheist/agnostic now.
