Those crazy cult movies
Currently watching this on Netflix: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Race_2000

Oh my! I keep expecting it to devolve into a porno. What is with the 70s and dystopian society movies? Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine wtf?

The movie is about some sort of race in the year 2000. The racers get points for running people over. Horrible acting abounds!

I love that movie.

The fact that the Sun is maize and the sky is blue is neither in our control, nor is something we fraudulently contrived. It just shows that God has excellent taste in colors.

You should see my DVD collection, I am the cult movie queen. The only exception being David Lynch, who I never could understand or get into. I do make up for it by all but worshipping John Waters though. IMNSHO, the man is a twisted genius.

Some people get cool hallucinations that tell them to kill people. Mine just try to get me into trouble.

RE: Those crazy cult movies
Anybody here familiar with the works of William Castle? He produced Rosemary's Baby, but the stuff he directed was somewhat more...campy. My personal favourite is The Tingler. There's nothing better than Vincent Price saying to the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, please, do not panic, but SCREAM! SCREAM FOR YOUR LIVES! For the Tingler is loose in this theatre!"

We all have our own inner angry natives and our minds invent a million ways to avoid confronting them directly. But if you just look them in the eye and ask them why they're chasing you with spears you just might learn something about yourself.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Harald the Missionary: Listen. I've been in this dump for sixteen years and I haven't made a single convert...
Snorri the Miserable: There was Thorbjorn Vifilsson's wife. You converted HER.
Harald the Missionary: Thorbjorn Vifilsson's wife became a Buddhist, not a Christian.
Snorri the Miserable: Same thing, isn't it?
Harald the Missionary: No, it is NOT.

I need to know: could you ever get through the final scene of Pink Flamingos?

Frank: I wish I was a super-genius inventor and could come up with a way to make a telephone into an explosive device that was triggered by the "American Superstarz" voting number. The battery could explode and leave a mark on the face, so I could know who to avoid talking to before they even talked. And I could look and say, "Hm, no you're not gonna be saying anything that's going to add any value to my life."

Honestly, I did have to look away during that. Even though I didn't think it was real until I read Water's book. In 'Shock Value' Waters admits the scene was real, Devine did eat doggie doo. Geeeross!

RE: Those crazy cult movies
I love me some Death Race 2000. Such a terrible, terrible movie. But my all-time favorite has to be Bloody Pit of Horror (which recently got the RiffTrax treatment. Alas, I haven't seen that yet).

The greatest weapon in spiritual warfare is love.
