RE: Caffeine
I had a 3 day headache followed by 2 weeks of fatigue.
I still occasionally have a headache and fatigue withdrawals if i have to much chocolate.

God has been faithful and loving me for over 18000 days. I think that He will be faithful and loving to me today.

RE: Caffeine
I've been treating my ADHD with caffeine since high school.

but, you know, if you think you need to cut it, then you should. and good for you, sticking to something hard.

RE: Caffeine
I've been trying to cut down/out caffeine for months now. I can't do it. I hate it. I'm not sleeping at night, I drink coke all day. If I try and stop the headaches are so severe I can't stand them, which doesn't help when i have five kids to look after. Trying to cut down gradually is slow and I don't stick to it, even though I start sleeping better almost immediately.

I will start again tonight though. Thanks.

RE: Caffeine
Day 3 was a little easier than Day 2.

I'm hoping by tomorrow I can actually think straight again.

I find Day 2 the hardest, even harder than Day 1. Day 4 should be easier than Day 3. The worst of it is behind you. If you're like me, you'll notice a definite shift by Day 5. The craving is still there, but the pain is gone.

Quote:Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is… A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. - C.S. Lewis

Two things I have learned in trying to give up bad habits:
1. If I promise never to commit a habitual act again, I will fail.
2. If I use procrastination to my advantage, and say, "I most likely will give in to this temptation again at some point, but with God's help, I can put it off a little longer," I often find that later, just past the point where I thought I would have given in, the temptation is not stronger, but weaker.

I made a little schedule on a post-it note for 3 weeks and changed how much coffee I made in my coffee maker every 3 or 4 days. It was gradual, but the written schedule helped me. I went from 3 x 20 oz cups a day to one half cup, now down to one cup of tea daily. I have never slept this well for 25 years.
