Question: But what will happen when you get old and stuff?
My standard response: I'll look like an old man with tattoos.

I have regretted it more than liked it. And I grew up with a Stepfather who had one from the Korean war and he regretted it, even though it was a really good piece of art.

Plus there's the OT concept of not marking your body. Like I said, I am not a legalist, but I think there are principles that can be learned from the OT law, and in my thinking, that one says that the body is sacred. I know dozens of people are going to scream at me "Legalist!" and "You better not wear mixed cloth then!!!" and all that, but I still think there is something to it. You asked. And now you see why I said they are personal. I will never condemn anyone for it, though.

I don't think you are a legalist. You have your reasons and that's fine. I do however, agree with PP that getting then at 17 is not the same as getting them as an adult. My bf got his two around that age and he regrets his.

Just because she has a different view from you, does not make her argumentative. That's a ridiculous conclusion.

My two sentences were not conjoined with a comma. Please don't call my judgmental feelings ridiculous.

I understand the difference. But my thoughts are not predicated totally on my experience as a 17 year old. They are general thoughts and observations. It seems to me that we want to make some kind of statement or bring attention to something or ourselves with tattoos. I would rather let my life and actions and words make known either myself or my identification with something or a person.

Now, this is an honest question and I'm not trying to be snarky, but how do you feel about women wearing jewelry? Jewelry makes a statement. Crosses say someone is religious. A heart stands for love or being in love. Different charms can mean different things relating to someone's life. How is jewelry different in that sense?

Doesn't bother me at all as long as it is not audacious. But that is a personal preference. I think the difference is that it can be easliy removed.

Jordan. Please don't think that I am judging your character. I am not. It is just a personal belief, and I will not push it on anyone. As A Christian moral/spiritual/ethical issue in the grand scheme of things, it does not even register on the scale that makes any difference. Now, if you bash my Pittsburgh Pirates, I am gonna have to relegate you to a lower level of heaven.

I'm in no way offended. You stated what you believe in a civil manner. You're still my favorite tomato. Big Grin

This lower level of heaven.... I'm assuming the gold streets are only gold-plated iron, the pearly gates are cultured, and the mansions are only ranches?
