Tattoo Time!
I have an appointment to get my first tattoo on Wednesday!!
I'm getting Hello Kitty's bow on my left wrist. Anyhooser, I'm wondering if anyone around here is artsy and would like to try designing two tattoos for me. One would just be two stars that would represent the two stars from the Peter Pan quote "The second star to the right and straight on till morning." Ever since I was a kid I loved the movie Peter Pan and it gives me the warm fuzzies. The other would be two words "wide awake". They're based on Katy Perry's new song with that title. If anyone is interested PM me. I'm willing to compensate you for your designs. Thanks! "Funny, you're the broken one, but I'm the only one who needed saving." |

RE: Tattoo Time!
The stars are cool. I will mock you for all of eternity for permanently marking your body for a Katie Perry song. Why not just tattoo "Nickelback forever" across your neck?

RE: Tattoo Time!
It sounds very cool JM and those words transcend songs. As a wise man once told me, not many people in this world are truly awake. When you find someone who is, pay attention to what they say!
As far as art skills, I have none. No "skills" whatsoever. Got a "D" in art--but it was only because the teacher liked me and thought I was a good kid.. I have thought about tattoos for a long time. Wish I could think of something to make into a tattoo but I got nothing...I go back and forth. 10 years ago I thought they were no good. 5 years ago I figured it out that other people can have them and they are cool, but not me. 2 years ago I wanted one! Just can't think of what to get!! I'm not into skulls, dragons, snakes, etc. Armbands seem cool but I read they are already out of fashion. Huh? Story of my life. 15 years behind the times. I'll get a smart phone in the year 2020.

RE: Tattoo Time!
I had my dad draw out my tattoo for me. Had a weekend all set to go get it, then I got knocked up. I'll try and post a picture of it later tonight.

When you find someone who is, pay attention to what they say! You get something that's meaningful to you. Is there a quote you like? Have someone work out a script (or do one in a font you really like) for you and then have the quote tatted somewhere. If you want it on your arm, do it. I got my phoenix (it's kinda blurry; sorry) after my mom died because that was a huge turning point in my life. I felt as though a part of me had died, and I got a chance to start over again. It's on my wrist where I can look at it everyday, and it's "upside down," which nearly gave the artist heart failure, but I wanted to be able to look down at it and be able to see it right side up (to me.) I didn't get the tat for the rest of the world or because everyone else was getting one: I got it for ME, and because of that, I wanted it where I could see it and enjoy it and draw strength from its meaning. So basically -- who cares if arm bands aren't trendy? You're doing it for you. Get what makes YOU feel good. It's your body, and your art, and ultimately, you're the one who has to live with it. |

RE: Tattoo Time!
That's cool JM! I've always thought about something military related as most of the guys I deployed with got them but just never found anything I REALLY liked enough to have it on me until I die.
![]() Hope you find a good design that you REALLY like.
