Are tent revivals always in the summer??? Why not have them in the fall or spring when it's not so dangerously hot and sticky?

I was going to guess that spring or fall would be too practical...harder to whip people into a frenzy if they aren't sweaty and overheated.

What I don't understand is why this guy is listed as a guest speaker if he's the pastor of the church (unless there are two IFB Dr. Lawrence Mendezes out there).

I don't see a time listed for their revival services.

(The Sons of Thunder was a name Jesus gave to James and John - Mark 3:17 - perhaps due to their preference to call down fire from heaven on those who didn't receive their message - Luke 9:54.)

I find it interesting that so many IFB preachers seem to prefer an aggressive, in-your-face approach when God's Word says that "the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient" (2 Tim. 2:24) and "temperate, self-controlled, respectable, ...not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome" (1 Tim. 3:2-3). Paul describes himself in 1 Thess. 2:7 as being "gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children."
