RE: Scientology
I just finished the book "Inside Scientology" by Janet Reitman--highly recommended! Has all the gory details.
I learned about one of the biggest scandals concerning the C of S: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Lisa_McPherson Read it and weep. They got away with it. Off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush |

RE: Scientology
Yeah, the Lisa McPherson case is as frightening as it is bizarre.
Evidently, the leader's wife has been missing, supposedly in a CoS "prison". The Ark was built by a lone amateur, and the Titanic was built by an impressive group of professionals. |

RE: Scientology
My original reply here disappeared... I would ordinarily think nothing of that, but considering the topic, I am a trifle spooked.
Trying again. (unnerved!) Last night I answered Myotch's post and said: (10-26-2012 12:36 AM)myotch Wrote: Evidently, the leader's wife has been missing, supposedly in a CoS "prison". As of the time of the book's publication, the poor discarded Mrs M (I won't spell out his name, just in case! My first post here did!) was sent to the San Diego CofS office, a sort of 'outsourcing' and demotion. No more limos and steaks for her! But if she is now "under discipline" --it means she has been sent to the Gold Base, and that is BAD. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_Base Gold Base is where the Sea Org is based; very intense security, and if you reach the highest levels of Sea Org and try to leave, it is tantamount to a jailbreak. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_Organization Off the record, on the QT and very hush-hush |
