I liked Kirani James WAAAAAY better than Jamaica's Bolt. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's arrogance. Even if you are the world's best at anything, show a little humility.

One of my favorite things in the Olympics is the medal ceremony for each sport. I love watching the reaction of the gold medal winner(s) when they get their medal and then watch their flag get lifted as their country's anthem plays. To me, that would be the ultimate rush, especially if it was an individual gold.
I thought the women's beach volleyball ceremony last night was cool in that I loved hearing many in the crowd sing along with the anthem. My favorite, I think, was the 15 year old US swimmer who won the 800m race. The fact that the Sun is maize and the sky is blue is neither in our control, nor is something we fraudulently contrived. It just shows that God has excellent taste in colors. |

US Women's soccer team won gold. Awesome. Too bad the men didn't qualify this year.

I think it's the year of the women in US Olympic medal counts. I read a statistic a few days ago that well over half the US medals at that point were earned by women.
