Fear of Evolution
Based on a comment in another thread...
I understand why fundies would be scared of evolution, but why would a non-fundamentalist xian not accept it? |

RE: Fear of Evolution
Divide and conquer. How quaint.
The Ark was built by a lone amateur, and the Titanic was built by an impressive group of professionals. |

RE: Fear of Evolution
It took me a while to move to the other side so perhaps the concept is stiil way down on the list of those who have newly left the movement?
O Beauty ever ancient, O Beauty ever new; you, the mirror of my life renewed, let me find my life in you.~St. Augustine |

RE: Fear of Evolution
The real problem is that Science has been advancing way to damn fast.
It used to be that the church, and the rest of society, had a few generations to process one major discovery, before the next one came along. It took the church over three hundred years to actually apologize and admit Galileo was right. Darwin, on the other hand has been dead less than 150 years. Much as I would like to blame the church for this backwardness, Scientists themselves are not that much better. Einstein never really accepted some ideas of quantum physics. Science also progresses "one death at a time." For every difficult and complicated question there is an answer that is simple, easily understood and wrong." H.L. Mencken |

RE: Fear of Evolution
Good/real science must be provable, repeatable and obserable so by these standards evolution is not proveable or scientific.
It takes waaaaay more faith to be believe in evolution than a creator God. The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you! |

I didn't, nor did I imply that I had, that's where faith comes in! The difference between you and I? I admit it, you don't! RE: Fear of Evolution
There are many more differences than that.
Are you under the impression that adaptation negates your faith in creation? |
