RE: Covenant Theology
I think what is called "covenant theology" is an accurate organization and explanation of Biblical truth.
Behold, what manner of love is this, that Christ should be arraigned and we adorned; that the curse should be laid on His head and the crown set on ours. –Thomas Watson |

RE: Covenant Theology
The opposite of what he said
I understand why people believe it, although I can't see the organisation in it. To me, it just lumps everything in scripture together and says "here you go, it's all for you".
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; - Titus 2:11-12 |

RE: Covenant Theology
I think it's very interesting and I have a lot of respect for those who believe it. But I don't see it in Scripture like they seem to.

RE: Covenant Theology
Oh, remember, there is a distinction between CT and NEW CT theology. Similarities, but the distinctions are noteable.

RE: Covenant Theology
Now I'm chuckling, wondering if this is what Tony Mel meant: for us all to just say "yeah" or "nay." Where you looking for more of a discussion? I wondered, but didn't really know where to start. Kind of a big topic.
@exIFB, you know I really think I need to change my name or something. I'm actually a women, but something about "historian" seems to make people think I'm male. :-) Behold, what manner of love is this, that Christ should be arraigned and we adorned; that the curse should be laid on His head and the crown set on ours. –Thomas Watson |

RE: Covenant Theology
Warning: completely off topic.
Quote:@exIFB, you know I really think I need to change my name or something. And, yes, I do think your screen name was a factor. Just shows my ignorance (and the residual sexism in our culture).

RE: Covenant Theology
I too thought Historian was a guy. Then she said she liked "What not to wear" on the tv thread, and I wasn't sure. I thought most guys didn't watch that show, but to quote Seinfeld, "Not that there would be anything wrong with that."
