Who remembers having to sit through sermons by this hellspawn on VHS?

Fun fact, Davis used to be "Sunday School" at my worst fundy church while I was there. Before then, he was part of our "Family Guilt Trip Night" activities.

Key points I took away from his messages:

1. There is no excuse for human anger. (Except when he would turn red faced and scream during his sermons.)
2. Porn makes you gay. (A LOT of these cases in illustrations.)

Someone gave us some of his stuff while we were on vacation and we listened to it most of the way home from OK to MS. The person who gave it to us knew we were struggling and wondering if we were godly enough because of all the guilt trips people were putting on us. We talked about how we regretted not doing things "the right way". Now the only thing we regret is listening to that trash.

I've met the guy and sat through many a VHS, cassette, and even a DVD or two. Our uber-fundy church removed him from our summer camp schedule after he preached his powerpoint of "Generational Curses". That's crazy that our fundy couldn't handle his fundy. Rolleyes

I have NEVER been able to understand that. IME, generational curses goes against everything the bible teaches about sin and repentance.

Even in the Old Testament, God said we are each responsible for our own actions and the consequences.

He preached at our youth camp several years in Iowa when I was a teenager. Of course I, as a devout "Fundy Youth", purchased cassettes of every sermon from the whole week.
