RE: Flying
Last time I went up to visit JM and C_Fresh I got upgraded to the Emergency Exit seats, so no screaming kids and plenty of leg room. Smile

I hate the security process. It's so intrusive. Yeah it's keeping us safer...not really buying it. It makes it look good though.

Airport security is relative. It does catch some stuff but its not nearly as good as people would like to think. I wrote my undergrad research paper on airline passenger screening and was not happy with how flawed I found out that the system actually is.

The problem is that nothing is 100% effective or secure. It becomes all about diminished safety returns vs cost and other factors.

Flight attendants. They're call flight attendants now. Smile

RE: Flying
I like flying once I'm actually in the air, mostly because I get to read and snooze for long stretches. Tongue

I hate the lead-up to the flight: So many rules and regulations and tricks to the system. And so much that can go wrong. Five years back, I flew to Germany for the summer; I was supposed to fly Kansas City-Newark-Berlin. Instead, my flight had minor mechanical issues and touched down in Cleveland. I booked it to the customer service desk (if nothing else, FU taught me to walk fast!) and booked my new flight: Cleveland-Newark-Lisbon-Frankfurt-Berlin. It added an extra 12 hours onto my flight. Ugh.

All shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
