Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
The CEO claims that he has received credible threats of physical violence against his family and is going to stop posting his blog as a result. His post seems to indicate that the threats are posted online someplace.

Anybody know anything about this?

Be the change you wish to see in the world. -Gandhi

RE: Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
Is it related to his recent post about Daisy Dead-head? Didn't people like to threaten her? Maybe they started threatening this guy too. Rats. He had a good blog that was informative (and entertaining).
edit: I was reading his blog earlier today! I wonder whatever happened within the past 10 hours. Probably my fundy reflex, but I'll pray for him and his family's safety.

RE: Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
I don't know. I stopped reading it several months ago. I couldn't figure out where he was coming from. Sometimes he seemed to dislike BJU; sometimes he seemed to support it. My confusion and growing discomfort with some of the posts and the comments caused me to discontinue following some time ago.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

The threats are in the comments of this post on Daisy Deadhead's site:
http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=...1571605341

The CEO called things as he saw them, so he cannot be easily assigned to one group or another. That type of mindset is not common in Fundamentalism or its step children. I let him know that I thought his latest hobbyhorse (Chris Peterman) was getting tedious (and some of what he said was beneath him). But he had a running feud with the group he called "The Disaffected" from BJU. I didn't bother to keep up with a lot of it. But there is no doubt that he was threatened, as was his wife.

Daisy and some guy who was defending her were in a spat with him in the comments...he claimed there were some email threats there before it was taken down.

Unfortunately the world of fundamentalism is not the only place where threats and intimidation are used to prop up false ideologies when people lose in the arena of ideas. Can't we all just get along?

Taken down? The threats are still right there! (7:50 AM EST)

(Four minutes later, Jeri gets it.) Oh sorry, you meant before the CEO's site was taken down. Duh.

This threat?

You mean Greg Easton the pseudo-pornographer-Christian? I asked him to witness the gospel to me, and he refused. What kind of Christian is that?

I have only gotten one hit from his blog, and of course, it was Bob Jones University. Does BJU know about the pseudo-porn? I guess since he defends them, he gets a special dispensation for his sociopathic personality and extracurricular activities.

Dear Greg... I almost left this comment on your blog, realized it was a "borderline" post. So, I am instead leaving it here for you to see. If you never visit here, you will never see it, so legally that leaves ME in the clear, according to MY legal department. Wink

Yes, Greg Easton, my legal department is on the job too. I am not Camille Lewis, and you will not bully me without repercussions.

I got biker friends in Pensacola. One of them said he would like to pay you a visit. [Street name redacted by C_Fresh] or [Street name redacted by C_Fresh]? Well, I guess he can check out both locations. I see you lived at [Apartments complex redacted by C_Fresh] when you lived here in the Greenville area [Redacted by C_Fresh just in case it matters]. Small world, I have biker friends there, too! In fact, I have biker friends most everywhere, since I was once married to one.

My biker friend in Pensacola needs some serious witnessing (I think he might be a satanist or something crazy like that, you know how Deadheads are all over the lot! Even Ann Coulter is one!)... so please be nicer to him, than you were to me, okay?

Could you clarify the street address so he doesn't have to go to both places? Get out your Bible, Greg... I think you are going to need it.

Daisy, Calvinists don't believe in witnessing. Predestination allows them to be smug in the Gospel. If you don't agree with them, then you're not predestined so they don't have to worry about you. Heresy but much easier for everyone.

Greg is doing this for blog hits and I thought you should know. Don't link him, though. That only encourages a sociopath.

Hi Greg! I'm an ex-old friend. You treated me like shit. Like you do Pat, Wes, Kaitlyn and everyone else in your life. So now we're ex-friends. {You mostly have ex-friends, which is why you aren't on Facebook. Nobody would friend you.} Daisy needs to know what kind of Bobber freak is harassing her this time.

I was shipped and stayed shipped. I didn't go crawling back to BJU on my belly begging for more abuse, like some masochists with no principles do. Remember now? You ratted me out to save your own ass, scumbag motherfucker.

If I ever get my hands on you, snitch asswipe, you'll wish you met Daisy's biker instead.

Daisy, Greg and Pat live at [Full address redacted by C_Fresh]. She is a teacher and works at [redacted (by DD)] school. There are apartment buildings across the street from them, so your friend should be able to park there and observe the house without anyone noticing.

Say howdy to Greg and Pat for me.

Ex-C, hope you don't mind that I took out the school name? If it was GREG that taught there, I would leave it in, but I have nothing against the misses. At least, not yet!

Thank you for the info. Looked it up on Google Street view--nice house, close to the ocean! Another rich kid (even if he is 51, he is obviously still a kid), playing games and getting in way over his head. Despite his "free speech" bullshit protestations, he has banned me and even Gregg, my consigliere.

Stalk and then ban, that is the pattern with these perverts.

Daisy, not a problem. I'm just providing information.

I want Greg to sweat the way his snitching made others sweat. He has no conscience or loyalty at all. Everything he has or has done is at the expense of someone else. If his wife didn't have a decent job, he couldn't even support himself. He's earned nothing on his own.

Be proud such a BJU-robot loser attacked you. It means you're doing the right thing.

I don't know the backstory that prompted this but that sounds thuggish to me. I dislike thuggery no matter who is the perpetrator.

I have read many different people's opinions both pro- and anti-BJU as well as those who have mixed feelings.

I grew increasingly uncomfortable with Hidalgo's name-calling, over-generalizations, and accusations -- the "feud" as you describe it. I disliked his tone and attitude toward those with whom he disagreed. I enjoy and learn from your blog, Bassenco, but Hidalgo's blog started more and more having a spirit about it which disturbed my own spirit. I truly feel he went beyond "calling it as he saw it".

C_Fresh, I agree. That sounds like threats from thugs. Very inappropriate.

RE: Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
Greg got caught in the trap of many people who are clever with words and prize their ability to win at words: he finally crossed somebody who would settle the matter with violence. As I said, I didn't approve of a lot of the stuff he was recently writing, and I said so on his blog.

But I certainly think the threats of violence are wrong and speak of an even worse lack of perspective and lack of integrity. It was clear that a lot of Greg's adversaries would never beat him at words. Certainly Daisy Deadhead wouldn't. So they resorted to something else.

RE: Hidalgo Grain Company Taken Down
I've enjoyed reading the CEO's webpage for awhile. His recent hang up on the Chris Peterman story seemed a bit obsessive, but I admired the way he backed up everything he said with documented proof. He was definitely snarky at times, but was usually worth the read.

And now once again someone is silenced by bullying and intimidation. I don't know what this Daisy Deadhead creature is, but this act is despicable. Another case of someone on the left using fundamentalist tactics to silence dissent.

{EDIT} I take that back. I've never known of any fundys who threaten to sick a biker friend on someone's home then publish the address. This goes beyond typical fundy bullying.
