Music Good 80's Hair Bands
I grew up on that 80's music and each time I hear it, I'm brought back to so many of my earliest memories....before the IFB. It was wonderful.

Once my mother tossed out all of my dad's pristine albums, I didn't get to hear any good 80's rock for YEARS until now.

I don't know most of the names of the band's or even many of the song titles so that's where I need some help from you guys.

I like Bon Jovi (I think that's 80's also right?)
The Rocky movies have a lot of that similar sound that's familiar.
Top Gun soundtrack was also that same sound.

What were some of the greatest bands that I should be looking up?

Cool

Speaking of 80's. Rock of Ages is coming out soon. I looked up the original musical info and it sounds like it should have a lot of good songs.

I'll have to look it up. Haven't heard much about it at all.

Oh. My. You've been terribly deprived if you don't know 80s hair bands. Sad(((

Bon Jovi
Def Leppard
Van Halen
Twisted Sister
Scorpions
Tesla (their Love Song still makes me swoon)

RE: Good 80's Hair Bands
See I thought Bon Jovi's music sounded 80's. Wink

I've heard the name "Gun's and Roses" before but only as it was being preached against. Now I'm going to go look these up. Big Grin

RE: Good 80's Hair Bands
The hair bands are ok until about 88-90. Then they start to copy each other and start looking and sounding alike. It got to be a mess.

Here's the link for the musical. There's a link to the movie about halfway down.

RE: Good 80's Hair Bands
These are the only ones I would consider 'hair bands'.

Skid Row
Poison
Warrant
Great White
Quiet Riot

Maybe Scorpion.

Guns and Roses might have 'looked' like a hair band but it wasn't. Neither was Bon Jovi. Led Zeplin...Meatloaf? No. Probably none of the rest of them on these lists either.

Maybe I just have a way different definition of hair bands.

RE: Good 80's Hair Bands
No one listed Stryper? Or White Cross? lol

My husband was all about rock in the 80s. And then felt like he should be listening to something more godly, and sacrificed quality of music for message. He got into "Christian rock". But we still have all his old albums. Big Grin

Not really my favorite genre, but I like the rock ballads.

DH added:
Motley Crue
White Snake
Cinderella
Rat
Dokken
Winger
Slaughter
