One of my favorite lines in the film came when a female SHIELD agent warned Captain America against taking on Thor because he was one of the Nordic gods. Cap's response - "There's only one God, ma'am, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that."

Late to this thread, but I had an FB friend post the following (below) when Avengers came out. Made me a bit angry at my parents for being just as stupid and feel bad for his kids having to put up with that nonsense. Sadly he's smart enough to know better, but apparently never grew up.
Josh, age 16: "Why can't Ezra see 'The Avengers'?" Me: "Because there are worldview assumptions and sexual overtones that I don't want reinforced this early in his spiritual and physical development." Josh, after a brief pause: "Welll...
