Someone's already said it, but I'm going to throw in my vote for it again: This fall of his is just the latest problem. He's a false teacher who always preached something other than the gospel of Christ. "Hate" is not the correct word. I would describe my feelings more like this:

The priests did not say, ‘Where is the LORD?’
Those who handle the law did not know me;
the shepherds transgressed against me;
the prophets prophesied by Baal
and went after things that do not profit.
Therefore I still contend with you,
declares the LORD,
and with your children's children I will contend...
Be appalled, O heavens, at this;

Yes, and we also know how hard it is to have someone you trust and look up to turn out to be ... a liar and criminal and predator. Because we've been there, too. It can be crushing and make you question everything you thought you knew about the world. Love and good wishes your way, techmedic. I know from the way you came in asking honest questions and thinking for yourself that you'll get through this, but that's not to say it isn't still hard.
