That's how we did it at Camp Fairwood, when I was a kid. The boys got to swim for about 2 hours and the the girls went to the lake (this was back in the 70s before natural H2O was found to be bad for you).
Some people get cool hallucinations that tell them to kill people. Mine just try to get me into trouble.
