Now, now, children. I think I need to prepare a sermon on the second greatest commandment!

Reminds me of the title essay in John Sayles' book "The Anarchists Convention." One group of anarchists ends up barricading themselves on one end of the Sheraton convention hall they are in...

For every difficult and complicated question there is an answer that is simple, easily understood and wrong." H.L. Mencken

Blue is the color of the sky, wherein God dwells. Therefore it is holy and sacred. Thus shall the ceiling be. However, green is the color of the earth, which God created to sustain man, his ultimate creation. Thusly, so must the carpet be. With little brown flecks to represent the dirt from which man came, and stripes of white to represent Adam's rib, from whence women came. But we must remember that men's hearts are black with sin, as a result of their fallen nature. And so the place where men and women fall on Sundays, the pews, shall be black. But then, praise the Lord, we are under the blood! Yea, verily shall the pads on the pews be blood red, to remind of the great sacrifice of Christ. Then shall we be white as snow, which shall also be the color of the piano, and the little barricade, fence thingy on the stage. And finally, when the great trump shall sound on that far away (hopefully) judgement, then shall we stand before the great golden throne of God, and receive our golden crowns and walk on the streets of gold and live in our golden mansions forever. Therefore must the sacred desk of our MOG, the one who has received THE CALL, the one who inteprets God's word for us, shall be golden. From God's mouth to our ears and hearts, so may it be, both now and forever more, amen and amen.

but what about the walls? what color are they?

They're all windows, like the Crystal Catherdral, so everyone can see how damn holy we are.

I thought you did it on purpose because when something is mentioned 3 times in the Bible it often has to do with holiness. Smile. I thought you were just being your usual very witty, witty, witty, self!

Holy, holy, holy - The "repetition" of a name, or of an expression, three times, was quite common among the Jews. Thus, in Jeremiah 7:4, the Jews are represented by the prophet as saying, 'the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, are these. Thus, Jeremiah 22:29 : 'O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord;' Ezekiel 21:27 : 'I will overturn, overturn, overturn;' see also 1 Samuel 18:23 : 'O my son Absalom! my son, my son;' see also the repetition of the form of benediction among the Jews, Numbers 6:24-26 :
