RE: Homosexual Marriage
The 'logic' seems to go like this:

All cats are good.
Therefore, dogs are good.

Wearing hats outdoors gives protection from sunburn.
Therefore, we'll wear hats indoors.

Grass is green.
Therefore, the sky is green.

You take one issue and say it is x, then take another, completely different issue and say that it must be x also, with NO logic to tie the two issues together. I could have fun doing this all day.

Of course, if you were doing it to actually make an argument, you might as well just wear a sign on your head saying "I'm an idiot and can't compreh... underst... don't know big words."

NPR did a story this morning about the church and gay marriage. They interviewed a female PCUSA minister who had resigned her position when they voted to ordain non-celibate homosexual ministers. She used Paul as a part of her defense for being against homosexuality. I don't know how the irony of that didn't make her brain freeze.

Forget the fear/it's just a crutch/that tries to hold you back/and turn your dreams to dust.

Based on what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah we may what to consider this pandering to "personal" choices a national security issue. The ashes are still blowing around the southern end of the Dead Sea.

RE: Homosexual Marriage
Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home - these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. In a similar way, SODOM and GOMORRAH and the surrounding towns gave themselves up the sexual immorality and perversion. they serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestail beings. Jude 1:3-8

Please heed the Word of the Lord!

The good news is that Christ died for all of you........not just some of you!

I'm sure to be corrected if I'm wrong, I'm surprised you weren't (not really!) I don't think in any of those states you mentioned, was it voted on by the people. It has been put to the vote in more than 30 states and has never passed. Again my opinion isn't popular on SFL but obviously the vast majority of folks in the U.S. agree with me, that marriage is definitely between a man and a woman, how absolutely ridiculous and sinful to think otherwise. One doesn't even need to know anything about the bible to recognize this is aberrant behaviour.

We have this thing called representative government. Actually, NH has one of the largest legislative bodies in the world. The law here seems to reflect the will of the people pretty accurately.

I don't think anyone is arguing about whether or not it is in the Bible. I think people are arguing over the amount of authority the church has or should have in the government. And the framers of the Constitution seemed to believe it should have none. But apparently, you know better ...

The dripping sound you hear is my heart bleeding for you.
Who gets married and where and why is the business of just those two people and I'm glad Obama has got enough guts and common sense to not only recognize this but actually state it out loud. Gay marriage is no different from straight marriage, both feature two people who care about each other and want to spend their lives together. I'm looking forward to when WI finally catches a clue, I have a really cool set of coffee mugs all picked out for my friend's wedding gift.
