I've seen Fundy MOGs make up fake threats in an attempt to add legitimacy to what they're teaching. It's a common trait of manipulators anywhere but VERY common among the IFB leadership I've personnaly experienced.

Give the man the benifit of the doubt, something you say the fundies would never give others. Just saying. Nobody claimed he did it. Chad - I think the difference is that those actions above were done directly to the faces of those of us exposed to it. It was all done in an attempt to appear to be holier than the church down the street and to make the pew dweller always feel as if we are coming short of the Glory of God. David Grice wouldn't give any of us the time of day becasue we read the NIV or ESV. All we are doing here is speculating. And it is only the internet. I'd never heard of Grice until SFL, but he's pretty extreme and abrasive. I do think it is wise to point out the fallacious teachings of those who purport to be more Biblical than anyone else and yet who add to Scripture. "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them." (Rom. 16:17). "Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan. |

RE: Fake Anthrax Scare At David Grice’s Church
It's the boy who cried wolf syndrome. When one person gets a reputation for acting bizarrely, people start to expect bizarre behaviour from that person.
My old fundy pastor would never do something like that. He wouldn't. I don't like him much, he certainly has some huge problems. But I know him well enough to know what those problems are, and he just wouldn't do this. So I wouldn't suspect him. Our love is the digital transfer of information ![]()

IDK. Seeing that their church wasn't the only place to receive the letters, it was probably some random idiot. Wonder why they would pick the random places they did, but then, why do idiots do what they do?
![]() It's odd that Grice is the only person interviewed, though. |

RE: Fake Anthrax Scare At David Grice’s Church
Did I hear that correctly? As much as Grice bloviates & self aggrandizes and his church is about 100? (I'm assuming Baptist counting going on to get that number to 100). I assume was a much larger congregation as much as he thinks he's a big big deal.

What was the substance actually? If it's leftover powdered sugar from doughnuts, then suspicion should rest on Grice. . .
