When my husband was active duty military, he told me of a saying, "What goes TDY (temporary duty assignment or business trip) stays TDY." That was the code. If you knew a guy was going to the strip clubs while TDY and wifey at home had no clue, you weren't to tell her. If you were deployed with someone married and they "hooked up" with someone while deployed, you didn't spill the beans. I wouldn't be surprised if the Secret Service detail that was busted in Columbia had that sort of unwritten rule.

That sounds logical to me however I never had to use such a "code".

Our guys always spilled the beans on their own.

If the numbers in the story are correct ($800 worth of service, payment offer of $28) then by my math the tithe should be $77.20.

But let me say that I have heard of negotiating rates and making a low-ball offer. But $28 for $800? Really?? And to think had he paid in full ,or at least made a decent counter-offer, none of this would have come to light. I wouldn't think his fellow Secret Service workers are too happy with him.
