Maybe we should each give him a +1 for sticking around.

RE: IN FEAR OF JUDGEMENT! (My car overturning with gasoline pouring everywhere)
I am a bit scared of moving from my church because of all the preaching ive heard in the past about "people who left out of the WILL of GOD!" and terrible things happened them. But when i think of doing something contrary to what is taught or believed, i usually dont hear God talking or that still small voice (not audible of course) telling me not to do it, it is usually what my IFB brethren would say or think that bothers me.

I mean its like im having trouble distinguishing between God and religion sometimes.

RE: IN FEAR OF JUDGEMENT! (My car overturning with gasoline pouring everywhere)
A verse that meant a lot to my husband and I was this:

"Therefore go to him outside the camp and endure the insults he endured." KJV - "Let us go forth therefore unto him outside the camp, bearing his reproach." (Hebrews 13:13)

We had to step outside what we'd been told was true in order to be true to what we believed the Bible actually said. And they did insult us, even to the point of claiming my husband was preaching a false gospel (that hurt). They also tried to instill fear in us, but God has not given us the spirit of fear!!! And he who fears is not made perfect in love.

I wonder if anyone ever told Paul that he must be out of the will of God: look at the guy! Shipwrecked, beaten, jailed, stoned, left for dead!!! He MUST have been out of the will of God, otherwise why didn't God protect Him? *end sarcasm mode*

I know that for the rest of my life, anything bad that happens to me, my fundy friends and family will blame it on the fact that we changed our worship style, read from the ESV, and took "Baptist" out of our church name. I have to reject their manipulation and stand strong on the Word of God.

(And I'm not someone who typically "feels" God either, but I DO read Scripture, and I am convinced that certain favorite opinions of IFBers are not binding on me and that I have freedom in Christ in many areas in which I had been taught that I did not.)

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.
