About Time
I've been reading this blog for quite a while now and have found everyone's insights and discussions on this branch of Fundamentalism very interesting.
I am an Anglican in the Catholic tradition, and although I am not nor have been a member of an IFB church (the brief time at a 'regular' Baptist church notwithstanding), owing to my interest in Church history I still hope through participating here to find out more about them, and to share experiences with others. |

RE: About Time
Glad you've been enjoying things here. Welcome!
To an "outsider" the IFB will prob look like a regular denomination all clean and polished, but on the inside it can become total unfathomable insanity. Fundamentalism no longer has a hold on me - I'm free! ![]()

Good to have you here, Xuebi. An Anglican in the Catholic tradition. What exactly does "In the catholic tradition" mean? Just wondering.

Good to be here, and thank you all for your welcoming me! "In the Catholic tradition" means, at least for me, that although I am an Anglican my style of worship is similar to that of a Catholic: I affirm the Catholic heritage and idenity of the Anglican Church. According to the Wikipedia page on Anglo-Catholicism, Anglo-Catholic worship tradition is the main difference (eucharistic vestments, eastward-facing orientation of the priest at the altar, incense and candles being some of the differences). The abovementioned Wikipedia page is helpful but typically, not all Anglo-Catholics adhere to all the points mentioned therein. It's normally on a church-by-church and person-by-person basis. |
