R.I.P.

R.I.P.
Today, I had to say good-bye to a dear friend. My favorite fat pajama pants.

I've had them forever. Don't even know when I got them. They've been with me through numerous menstrual cycles. They've traveled with me land and sea. They were what I put on after coming home from wearing binding clothes all day. They were my respite. If I was sick, that's what I wore. If I was having a bad day, they made me feel better.

They are ugly and worn and today, damaged beyond repair. I have repaired them many of times, but its beyond repair now.

So as not to be too heavy of heart, I have a runner up that I wear when these are dirty, so I will resort to them.

But,.... *sigh*... it's time to let them go.

Lol! At least it's not your dog, cat, or pet lizzard. Tongue

I had to give my beloved Basic Training ACU pants to my wife as they are now too small to fit me. Those things went through hell and back, were stained with much grass and mud, but made it through all the way to the end. I thought they would last me many years of use but alas I've now outgrown them.

RE: R.I.P.
My wife bought me some flannel pajamas on clearance. They are so soft and fuzzy. I loved them so much, she went back and bought me a second set before they ran out. I wear them every night unless it's too hot, and frequently during the day if I'm not going anywhere. I've even been known to wear them under snow pants in the winter. I will miss them when they finally wear out!

You know those soft, fuzzy Vellux blankets they used to have in every hotel room? I love that texture. Now they are harder to find in the stores, and expensive to ship. My wife bought me one for my birthday one year. It's my favorite blanket, and it's getting threadbare in spots.

So I'm sending warm, fuzzy thoughts!

Have you ever travelled in a sleeper compartment on Amtrak? The blanket on the berths is SO comfy. During the day when they convert the berths, I take the blanket off and curl up with it in the seat. I've been tempted to sneak one.

I bought HF these LA Dodgers pajama pants that are his favorite. They're baggy on him and he looks like a toddler in them. He loves them.

Natalie, I'm so sorry you are saying goodbye to a true friend. Comfy clothes are good for the soul. Panty hose are from the devil.

Panty hose can rot in Hell. And I'll be happy to never wear them again.

RE: R.I.P.
Natalie, What did you do with them?

I had a pair of green sweat pants that I wore right after two of my 3 deliveries and continued to wear for sooooo long that even my brother who was unmarried at the time, and didn't tend to notice much related to clothing said, "how long you gonna wear those?" And that's when I knew it was time to throw them away. Sad
