Favorite Odd Food
What's your favorite food that is not "normal" or popular or you get the, "How can you eat that?"

I'll start:

I love shredded wheat. The old school kind. The briscuits. I love egg and sausage sandwiches with (get ready to gag) mayo and ketchup. It'll put me in the ground one day, but my Dad used to eat them that way and I love them. Pimento cheese sandwiches. That canned Brunswick stew. It doesn't even almost resemble real Brunswick stew but I love it. And it's dirt cheap. And, must have ketchup on my sausage biscuits.

Sweet pickle relish on grilled cheese sandwiches.

Salsa on scrambled eggs.

Milk in hot tea.

RE: Favorite Odd Food
I don't generally find out any of my favorite foods are odd until I happen to mention one and get a reaction. I usually wasn't expecting the reaction, because I didn't realize anyone thought it was weird, it was just something my family always ate. For example, we would heat applesauce on the stove, stir in some cinnamon, and spread it on pancakes.

Lol that's so true! I didn't realize that the reason I got to try so many weird foods was because my mom was pregnant with my youngest brother. Tongue

RE: Favorite Odd Food
I always thought putting ketchup on sausage biscuits was normal.

I've since been corrected.

I'm thinking about some of the things we ate, trying to remember when we first had them, and checking to see if those years correlate to the ages of my siblings. Some weren't that weird. Cheese and ketchup sandwiches for example: Cheese, ketchup, and bread. Add a ground beef patty, and you've got a cheeseburger. (We always used bread instead of hamburger buns. I think it was cheaper, and my mom was a big believer in whole wheat. Idk if you could even get whole wheat hamburger buns back then.)

Then there were cheese and jelly sandwiches. (When she was a little girl, her grandmother would give her mustard and sugar sandwiches.) Not to mention all the things we ate when my mom joined a health-food co-op!

I never put milk on cereal. This freaks people out way more than it should.

Potato chips in ice cream. Dipping fries in milk shakes. Oh sooo good. Sweet and salty.

French fries dipped in mayo. Not too weird, but I love it.
