RE: 1984
Defintely agree with this. I've been making 1984 references to people for the last couple of years. People at church don't understand cuz none of them have read it, and my parents refuse to hear it, and say I'm being ridiculous by comparing the two.

RE: 1984
My copies of "Fahrenheit 451" and "Brave New World" are underlined and highlighted all through! I'll have to pull "1984" back out and read it again: it's been a long time.

"Do not look so sad. We shall meet soon again.” “Please, Aslan,” said Lucy, “what do you call soon?” “I call all times soon,” said Aslan.

RE: 1984
Yes, Animal Farm too! Especially how they set up the 7 Commandments, then leadership later decided these rules did not apply to them 'cause they are special. The animals put their logic on the shelf and accept what leadership says - always. Also, the animals are worked like slaves and the old horse is used up in his youth and discarded when he is no longer useful. (We all exist just to feed the machine; loyal worker betrayed). And how previously respected hero Snowball left and was publicly discredited and made the scapegoat for everything that went wrong.

In summary:

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL
BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS

Interesting how so many of us spot the similarities!!!
