Someone must be working "full-time" to keep any "truthful information" from coming out.
Sure SIGN of hiding something!!!!

Doesn't it make you wonder what crime the pastor would have to do to get those brown-nosing deacons at Freeway Baptist Church to do the right thing?

Perhaps it is time for DoRightFreewayBaptistChurch, complete with airplane banner

What if Mark Chappell were to have an affair with one of the deacon's wives?

From what I've learned about fundies, it would be the wife's fault.

She Who Must Be Obeyed

And then Chappell, who would still be in the pulpit, would give the guy "Permission" to divorce her and stay in leadership.

Agreed.

Even if that one deacon found a clue, he and his "harlot" wife would be kicked out of the church...and since the other deacons did not literally see their trysts, the pastor would be secure in his bully pulpit and would preach a new six week series on gossiping heifers.

You have Mark pegged right! He has "had" deacon's wives before (Long Beach). That is why I have observed his "hold" on people is almost Satanic. He has the pulpit, will try and discredit anyone who "suspicions" him of wrong-doing, and "dumb" laypeople "fall" for it.
How many churches does he have to have "affairs" in before the people wake up to what he is about???????????

RE: should Mark Chappell an Admitted Molester still be a Pastor
Well he has done it again Mark Chappell has gave a pity poor me story to the folks at Freeway and he is so repentant and look at all the good he has done and God called him here he is sure of that. They all want to keep him. Well I am so proud of my husband the only Deacon with any Spirtual discernment to stand up for what is God's word in Titus as qualifications for a pastor. How do they allow this? They are 100% out of the will of God and now following a man. Praying still that Mark will be held accountable for his crimes in Wallingford CT against young girls. But as far as Freeway Baptist in Phoenix AZ write ICHABOD across the doors!!!

RE: should Mark Chappell an Admitted Molester still be a Pastor
I was really intrigued to see what this guy was like so I went to his website and loaded his most recent sermon on video and watched a few minutes while I was running some late night reports. It was May 6, something like A time of Crisis. Right out of David's live "People chasing David, trial of faith, a man after God's own heart." And I could see that we was trying to paint a picture of him as pastor being pursued by evil people. How self righteous can one man be?
