Touch
Anyone else watching Touch? It's a fascinating show with Kiefer Sutherland as the dad of a 12-year-old (I'm guessing the age) mute son who has amazing powers of observation and perception into the world. The kid who plays the boy is really good, too. It also features Danny Glover as a child psychologist who seems to be the only one besides his father who believes in the boy.
The show is very supernatural, as the boy has insights (probably insights that he doesn't understand) into events going on around the world, and as each program progresses wildly disparate story threads, like (in last week's episode, for example) a family in Montreal searching for a marrow transplant for their adopted son and a girl in Saudi Arabia being forced into an arranged marriage, coincide with events the father and son are experiencing in New York City. If you haven't seen it, the show airs on Thursdays on Fox after American Idol. I walk with bare, hushed feet the ground Ye tread with boldness shod;

RE: Touch
I saw the pilot episode and thought it was pretty cool. Haven't had time to watch any other episodes.

RE: Touch
It looked interesting at first, but the vibe I got was the boy had autism or another neuro condition and the uniqueness of his condition helped him save the world an hour at a time. After living with 2 kids on the autism spectrum, I find it hard to be entertained by it. I do hope the show portrays neuro atypical people as having worth in our society, though.

RE: Touch
The commercials annoyed the crap out of me. Once again Sutherland is racing around trying to save the world.
Totally not interested. "Funny, you're the broken one, but I'm the only one who needed saving." |
