High Gas Prices and Driving Behavior

RE: High Gas Prices and Driving Behavior
Ok. I pay about 144c a liter.

I looked at an online currency converter and saw there are about four liters to a gallon, so that would be about 576c (Aust) a gallon.

Stick that into a currency converter and it looks like about $US5.98 a gallon.

I drive much more conservatively, and I bought a car with better mpg because my 50 mi round trp commute to work was killing me.

You pay $6 a gallon for your PETROL? I remember the first time one of my friends from Australia was here visiting and he was driving and said "let's get some petrol" and then we said petrol non-stop for a long time. It sounds waaaay better when said by a real Aussie. Smile

Yeah, I'm wondering if I've done the calculations wrong but I think that's right. Of course, I've never had any personal dealings with gallons, so I have no way of personally checking those calculations.

I just cringe while filling up. My husband and I could go to Buffalo Wild Wings and order large meals and drinks for less than a tank of gas.

RE: High Gas Prices and Driving Behavior
Mostly there are only two "changes" I make: I am more likely to bring my lunch to work rather than go home to have lunch with my wife a couple times a week, and find an excuse to go down to SC for the cheaper price over the weekend. Not to the point of making gas the only reason, but finding errands that we needed to run near the border that we had already been putting off.
