RE: Voter Fraud
So we'll get Aunt Edna out of the nursing home and drive her the 51 miles to the county seat to get that ID issued then? OK.
It might be mandatory in your state to carry and produce ID, but it's not in this state. So that's a dead horse. *11 percent of our population does not have a "valid" ID that would work for voting. * 3 million people were turned away in 2008 because of problems with voter registration. * 25 percent of African-Americans do not possess a current and valid form of government photo ID, compared to 11 percent of all races. RE: Voter Fraud
Sure. You want Aunt Edna to comply with the law, no? You have no problem getting her out of the nursing home and to the voting booth on election day.

RE: Voter Fraud
It's all bluster. Everyone has an SSN and I don't see anyone crying about that. People have bank ID's. People have drivers licenses and license plates. My kids have cafeteria ID's and locker numbers. People have Internet IP's that are traceable. These things are simply necessary for the functioning of society. It has become necessary to prove you're a real person to vote instead of a felon or an illegal immigrant or you're practicing the Chicago way of "vote early and vote often."

RE: Voter Fraud
What states have laws requiring ID just to walk around?

RE: Voter Fraud
Most people actually support voter ID laws.
"72% of Likely U.S. Voters believe voters should be required to show photo identification such as a driver’s license before being allowed to vote. That’s in line with findings from December but remains down slightly from the 75% to 82% of voters who have supported a photo ID voting requirement in surveys since June 2006. Only 22% are opposed to the photo ID requirement." - http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_c...ter_id_law Whatever you think Rasmussen polling, I trust their cited statistics over "Campus Progress". RE: Voter Fraud
I'm not totally against having ID to vote. I just don't see the need for the laws when we have much bigger issues going on to be taken care of.

I'm right there with ya on this one. There's no way I'd show ID for just being. THAT would be Nazi Germany-esque. |
