By this logic, no fundy should have internet because the internet has pr0n. You're supporting porn by having internet!!!!

I never did understand this logic either...especially when we all knew that most of the movies in the theater would eventually be rented to be watched at home on VCR and later...DVD.

One of the very first things we did after leaving our last ifb church...was take our kids to the movie theater to see Pixar's Cars. We never had a "conviction" against going to the theater, but never took them before because we were afraid they would innocently tell their Sunday school teacher about it and we'd get grilled. Consistency before our kids was one of the reasons we left IFB. We would much rather teach them discernment than just a list of "no's". We are almost 6 years out of fundy land and we take them to see movies periodically, but we are very selective...just as we are about the ones we watch in our home.

The way it always was, is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. - Nichole Nordeman

After we left our last IFBx church, we took our entire family to see Mission Impossible II. The kids were awestruck at the big screen. We talked to them honestly about why we had not gone to theatres for years. First it was a radical church we were in, then I was in bible kawledge and I wanted to keep the rules. Then another wacko church that made you sign a pledge that you would not drink, go to movies, wear shorts, or listen to CCM. You can't make this stuff up.
