Bard as a starter? hummm. now bailey needs surgery and will miss 3-4 months. Josh B is hurting as well. jeeze, the seson hasn't even started yet.

@redbeard- being a Sox fan, i inevitably watch the f-ing Yanker's .... alot. and if the sox aren't playing, i'll watch the Yanker's, hoping to see them get beat. my hatered for the Yankers, i had to respect Joe Torre. that cranky old dude ruled those guys and that had to be a difficult task. Joe G seems to be Joe T- lite. i like that coaching style better than what i've seen from Francona.

Bard as a starter = one of 'I have no idea what to expect' things. He seemed to have the chops but not the mental toughness to take on the closer spot. Bailey was an odd move though.

Josh Beckett is one of the most overrated hacks ever. He's had a couple of good half-seasons scattered throughout out his career.

RE: MLB Baseball
Just bought the gameday audio package from mlb supposed to be every game, all season long, no blackouts. One of the other guys and I split the cost. (No radio reception in the big concrete warehouse.)

Over a 6 month season, I'm sure that will pay for itself. Watching your Sawx now. Francona made the comment about pulling Verlander for the bottom of the 7th: "You're getting to the territory they haven't been this year." Duh, it's opening day.

RE: MLB Baseball
I feel for Lester. He stuck with Verlander for a long time and only let up one run... can't ask much more from a starter. On the other hand, you could ask for a lot more from every other pitcher Bobby V put out there.
